My Environment, My Film Competition and Workshop

We are delighted to announce details of our 'My Environment, My Film' viral video making and distribution Workshop 2010. You can register here.

On Saturday 28th August the EU Commission Representation in Ireland, the Darklight Festival and Cultivate will hold a free viral video workshop as part of the My Environment, My Film short film competition. The workshop will run from at 12pm until 6pm in the offices of the European Commission in Ireland, 18 Dawson Street, D2.

This workshop is not only intended to give budding film makers help on how to make films but also to distribute them online. After all, making compelling and creative films is only half the battle - you need to get the message out there.

This event is free to the public but seating is limited, so allocations will be done on a first come first served basis. Our advice, get there early.

Hosted by Fionn Kidney, a number of speakers including: Doris/Magee (viral filmmakers for the 2010 My Environment, My Film competition Derek O'Connor & Ian Whelan), Animator Sam Boyd, Director Jimmy Duggan and Cultivate's Davie Philipps will present on filmmaking, animation, distribution and the environment.
